Call for Entry: The New England Wood Firing Conference is casting an open call for wood fired pottery.

Show Title: The Will of the Kiln

Juror: Chris Gustin of Gustin Ceramics

Description: Wood, as fuel, offers an astounding range of creative potential to the potter; spawning a broad range of firing techniques while bringing about meaningful human connection. This show will highlight the varied array of today’s practicing wood fire potters from around the world.

Open to pit fired works, soda/wood pieces, straight-up wood fired wares, clays of every kind; any and all wood-fired wares and sculptures are welcome.

Selected works (12) will be featured as part of the New England Wood Firing Conference & Tour and shown at the Painted Path Gallery, Woodbridge, CT

Gallery Reception: July 1, 2023 6-10pm

ENTRY DEADLINE: Monday, May 1,2023

Entry Fee: $40

Applicants will receive instructions along with a link to a shared folder to upload submissions upon completion of the payment process.

Drop off/Delivery  Deadline to Painted Path Gallery: June 29, 2023

Set up: 6/30/23

Opening: 7/1/23

One-time $40 submission fee

Painted Path Gallery will receive a 15% DONATION from sales.

Each artist is welcome to submit any number of pieces for the show. 12 pieces total will be accepted for display in the gallery. Supplemental works will be loaded onto a tablet and will be available for purchase from the gallery while the show is running at Painted Path Gallery. This way buyers may collect works within a few days while allowing the show to remain intact throughout the month of July.

Applicants will receive instructions along with a link to a shared folder to upload submissions upon completion of the payment process.

Pieces will be displayed on pedestals within the gallery space. Each piece will be accompanied by a QR code that leads to your personal information…be it a website, bio…anything you’d like the viewer to know about you and your work.
